About Us
Unemployment is a global problem that requires a local solution
At Jobs for Life (JfL), we believe the solution is found within the local Church.By training, equipping, and connecting churches, ministries, and businesses in communities all over the world, JfL helps prepare men and women for meaningful work through honest relationships, mentoring, work-force development training, and an ongoing community of support.
Established in Raleigh, North Carolina, in 1996, JfL addresses the root causes of unemployment by uniting churches, businesses, and community organizations and facilitating positive transformation within lives and communities.
Nothing attacks one’s dignity like a lack of work. The suffering and consequences of unemployment and underemployment are pervasive and heart-wrenching. Joblessness contributes to poverty, crime, homelessness, domestic violence, substance abuse, unwanted pregnancies, depression, divorce, and suicide – it is self-perpetuating and tears at the fabric of society.
At Jobs for Life, we believe the Church is uniquely equipped to address the devastating effects of unemployment and poverty by helping men and women experience the dignity of work–through honest relationships, mentoring, Biblically based training, and an ongoing community of support.
MISSION:
Jobs for Life engages and equips the Church to prepare individuals for meaningful work.
VISION:
All people are flourishing in their work and relationships.
